Anderson looking for a change in luck
With the NZV8s returning to the North Island for the remaining three rounds of the championship series, Andrew Anderson is hoping that this is the catalyst for a change in recent on track fortunes.
“It’s been good to get all our gear back to our team base after running the last three rounds on the road from the transporter. It has given us a chance to go over the car from top to bottom in the workshop.”
In the last race at Timaru, the ITM Commodore sustained damage to the right rear door and quarter panel, and limped to the finish with a guard rubbing on the tyre. “We certainly got off lighter than some of the other cars involved in the third race incident. Two of the other cars involved have been written off so I guess we were lucky. I am indebted to Steve and his team at Moselle Panel and Paint for turning the car around in a matter of days and having her look like new again.”
Having slipped down the points table at the last round, there is plenty of motivation to recover lost ground. During the break between the rounds, the ITM Racing team has carried out scheduled servicing on all running gear, and will hit the track in the best condition possible. With some competitive performances at the Manawatu circuit in the past, Andrew heads into this weekend determined to put the challenges of the recent outings behind him and secure a solid result.
