ANDERSON SEEKING TO PUSH FORWARD

The NZV8s head to Taupo on 11-13 March for the penultimate round of this year’s championship.  With two rounds and six races remaining, the ITM Racing entry of Andrew Anderson is poised to push forward into a top ten position in the highly competitive category.

In the final race of the previous round, Andrew was able to work forward over the weekend to be racing along side the likes of defending champion Craig Baird.  “Each year the category gets tougher and the difference between the teams is certainly getting narrower.”

With the improved race performance, the ITM Racing team will be focusing on a qualifying set up for the weekend’s racing.  “We have shown some good speed in the races but at this stage have failed to nail the ideal qualifying set up.  The team has been working on this all season and I am confident that we will make some progress this round.”

Heading into the Taupo round, Andrew is sitting fifteenth in the championship and is less than 40 points away from a place in the top ten.  “The last two rounds should suit my style.  We raced well at Taupo last year and nearly made the podium at the ITM400, so I know that we can close the gap and peg back a few places along the way.”

Andrew will again be donning his running gear on the Sunday morning when he joins the Grid Kids duathlon at the circuit.  With Taupo being the home of the NZ Ironman this coming weekend, it will likely be the largest and fittest turn out of kids this season.
