Andrew Anderson – Driver
Andrew, a third generation racer from the Anderson family, was always destined to forge a career on the track. Starting his career late at 16, he first began in Go-Karts then moved on to his father’s powerful 1969 Ford Mustang in 1992. Sticking with touring cars, Andrew has developed his race craft in various categories over the years to become one of the country’s leading touring car drivers. The 2009/10 season marked Andrew’s tenth competing in the highly competitive NZV8 category.
Bruce Anderson – Team Manager
Bruce along with his brother Wayne, formed Pinepac Racing in the early 1980s. An accomplished driver in his own right, with many National and Club victories to his credit, Bruce fills the Team Manager’s role and is the brains behind his son Andrew’s campaign in the NZV8 Touring Car Championship. Although not competing actively for several years, Bruce recently hit the track again with his fully rebuilt 1969 Ford Mustang muscle car, competing at the 2009 Australian Muscle Car Masters with the Kiwi Central Muscle Car Invasion II.
Wayne ‘Jacko’ Anderson – Car Owner
Wayne has been instrumental in Pinepac Racing’s entry into the NZV8 Touring Car scene. Developing and completing the first ever Holden VT for the class in 2000, Wayne has since gone on to build a reputation for constructing the most successful cars in the class, including winning the 2003/04 and 2004/05 NZV8 Touring Car Championships. Wayne also plays an active role in the development and future of the category and enjoys testing the cars during the season. Wayne is well known for his spectacular Big Block V8 Muscle Cars that he used to campaign – his last being ‘Big Red’, a 1970 Camaro.
Brendon Dovey – Mechanic
Brendon joined the team in the 2007/08 season as the team’s race weekend mechanic. Brendon’s background is in race car fabrication and has worked for Racepro and Ken Hopper Car Construction before starting his own business, Custom Motorsport.
Judith Anderson – Catering
Judith has been a fixture of Pinepac Racing team for many years. On race weekends, Judith ensures that the team are refuelled by providing us with three square meals a day. She can also lay claim to Andrew’s driving ability as she taught him how to drive.
