The start of the season was upon us at long last. We arrived in Taupo at lunchtime on Thursday to get our pit garage set up for the weekend ahead. It is a bit luxurious at Taupo as we are in the garages which have lights and running water ‘” a bit different from tents on grass. Friday saw Andrew complete two test sessions and a hot lap ride session. In the first test session, the car initially lacked turn in. The crew made adjustments and it became very taily. The engine still needed adjusting for the change from avgas to BP Ultimate 98 and for the altitude. In the second test session, we went the wrong way with the changes made to the set up and the car went slower. However, the fuel mixture was rectified and the car went faster in a straight line.
