ANDERSON AIMS TO “TICK THE BOXES” AT FINALS

With the last round of the championship at Taupo this weekend, Andrew Anderson is aiming to finish on a high and tick the last remaining boxes in his list of unfinished business for the season.

Heading into this season on the back of finishing eighth last year, Andrew and the ITM Racing Team were confident of building on that and pushing forward. However, it has been a trying season.

“We have had good race pace this year but qualifying has not been kind to us. To miss all the top 10 shootouts so far is frustrating. Mechanical gremlins have struck at the wrong time like the brake cylinder failure at the last round” commented Anderson.

Anderson is focused on putting the difficulty behind him and to finish strongly at Taupo this weekend. The Holdens have struggled at times with outright pace this year compared with the Fords. With the 3 car AV8 Holden team now down to only Anderson (ITM Commodore) and Booth (Big Ben Commodore) for the final round, this reshuffle may assist the leading Holden team to strike one back for the General’s product.

“Boothy and I have traded first Holden overall at every round this year. I think he’s 3/2 up on me so I guess it’s my turn, but we are both aiming to achieve this and an outright overall victory for Holden. We won’t leave anything on the table this weekend” commented Anderson.

Andrew has a store appearance at the Taupo ITM Building Centre on Friday morning before heading to the track to focus on the weekend ahead.

The ITM Racing team are supported by ITM, Marley, Kincrome, E-FRAME, Selleys, Hitachi Power Tools, Valvoline, Pink Batts, West City Holden, New Balance, Moselle Panel and Paint, Davy Tyre Services, Cottle Motors, PPG, and Subway.
